Roger Whelan talk "The Fall of the Roman Empire & the Ascent of
Judge Roger Whelan presents a talk on "The Fall of the Roman Empire and the Ascent of Christianity" on Saturday December 3rd from 1:30-3pm. in the Shrine Library. All are welcome.

Suggested donation $10 per person.

Judge Whelan presents all of the Historical Tours at the Shrine and offers this special event for all to come and learn about the final days of the Roman Empire and how the Church rose up in its ashes!

Born and raised in Montclair, NJ, Roger attended Georgetown University graduating cum laude in 1959. Roger then finished his law degree at Georgetown University Law Center in 1962 and is a member of the District of Columbia Bar. Roger served as a United States Bankruptcy Judge for the District of Columbia from 1972 through 1983 and was also designated by Chief Justice Warren Burger to serve on the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Maryland in 1981 and 1982. Roger is also one of the Distinguished Lecturers for the Columbus School of Law at the Catholic University of America.

This retreat is designed for all to help reflect on the Gospel of St. Matthew and prepare for the Christmas season and beyond! This retreat includes a Continental Breakfast, a talk, and Mass at 12 noon. The retreat will be led by Fr. Dennis Mason, OFM Conv. in the Shrine conference room.

The Greccio Living Nativity will be held on Saturday December 10th and Sunday December 11th at 7:30pm. at the Red Barn. The program is the same for both evenings.

Our service of Prayers, Christmas Carols, and a Living Nativity will take place outside at the Red Barn with refreshments to follow free of charge. Bring your family and friends and encounter the true meaning of Christmas! All are welcome.

In case of inclement weather, the Greccio Living Nativity will be held in the Shrine Chapel.

Prayer Shawl Ministry
In the spirit of St. Clare of Assisi, we invite you to join us in our Clare Prayer Shawl Ministry. A prayer shawl embraces and comforts the wearer with the love and prayers of the maker and the faith community. Recipients of the shawls may be people who are undergoing medical procedures, who are grieving, or who need to feel the love and support of the community during a difficult time in their life. The Prayer Shawl Ministry also makes shawls for family members of Fallen Soldiers.

Meetings are on the 2nd Tuesday of the month. Members meet at the noon Mass. After Mass, members eat lunch (bring your own), and knit or crochet until 2:30pm. New members are always welcome....

Prayer Shawl Ministry
In the spirit of St. Clare of Assisi, we invite you to join us in our Clare Prayer Shawl Ministry. A prayer shawl embraces and comforts the wearer with the love and prayers of the maker and the faith community. Recipients of the shawls may be people who are undergoing medical procedures, who are grieving, or who need to feel the love and support of the community during a difficult time in their life. The Prayer Shawl Ministry also makes shawls for family members of Fallen Soldiers. Meetings are on the 2nd Tuesday of the month. Members meet at the noon Mass. After Mass, members eat lunch (bring your own), and knit or crochet until 2:30pm. New members are always welcome....
