Calling all Bakers... we need your help!
We are busy planning for this year's Bull Roast to be held at Martin's East on Sunday Sept. 12th and we need your help to make the Franciscan Friar's Annual Education Benefit a success. As in the past, we are asking for donations of homemade baked goods and confections, with recipes included if possible, to raffle at our bake table. (Due to summer heat, please no cream frostings!)
If you would like to contribute, please bring your baked good to the Provincial House or the Shrine office on Friday Sept. 10th or Sat. Sept. 11th from 9am.-2pm. Prayer Shawl Ministry
In the spirit of St. Clare of Assisi, we invite you to join us in our Clare Prayer Shawl Ministry. A prayer shawl embraces and comforts the wearer with the love and prayers of the maker and the faith community. Recipients of the shawls may be people who are undergoing medical procedures, who are grieving, or who need to feel the love and support of the community during a difficult time in their life. The Prayer Shawl Ministry also makes shawls for family members of Fallen Soldiers. Meetings are on the 2nd Tuesday of the month. Members meet at the noon Mass. After Mass, members eat lunch (bring your own), and knit or crochet until 2:30 pm. New members are always welcome....

We ask you to look down and see once again the goodness in these animals which you have given to us in your kindness. May they know your protection from all dangers and bring joy to our hearts. Transitus of St. Francis...from death to new life
The Franciscan Friars and the Secular Franciscans invite you to join them in a candlelight vigil as we remember the passage of St. Francis from this life to glory. Tonight is a night when Franciscans and all who cherish the memory of St. Francis gather to remember and to tell stories. We have a simple story to tell: the story of Francis' transitus, or passage, from this life to eternal life. And we tell the story in the simple and faith-filled words of Thomas of Celano, one of the earliest biographers of Francis. We tell this story to remember our heritage, to renew our Christian faith, and to evoke our Christian hope. The service will begin in the Glassroom and will process around the Courtyard into the Chapel. All are welcome.
